Winter warmer smoothie part two


Being back home and also feeling nippy has resulted in nearly every breakfast consisting of a hot smoothie. They are just the perfect way to start the day!
So here is another one to add to your selection (see previous post). The cold/flu-buster, shall we say. Full of beetroot and comforting nutrients, it's sure to prepare you for the many hours ahead or, if you are feeling under the weather, help you get better in no time.

We will need... 

1 beetroot (2 small ones),
1 apple,
small handful of kale,
1 orange,
1 small carrot,
almond milk,
plain yogurt (optional)

or

1 beetroot (2 small ones),
1 apple,
small handful of kale,
1 orange,
1 banana,
almond milk,
plain yogurt (optional)

What to do...

Chop up the beetroot, apple, carrot/banana and drop into the blender with the orange, kale and almond milk. Whizz together to form the smoothie and then transfer to a small pan and place on the hob until hot. Then pour into your favourite mug and, for a satisfyingly creamy texture, top with a few spoonfuls of plain yogurt.
Sit back with your feet up and enjoy.
