What's new? I am now twenty years of age. My birthday didn't feel like a birthday and I notice no change from when I was nineteen. I spent my first night's sleep dreaming about being pregnant and I spent my first day watching a documentary film with my university course about incredibly stylish (and inspiring) elderly women. Maybe that's a sign I have now entered the world of adulthood. Maybe it's just coincidence.
OBSERVING (Cheerleader stripes)
They were leaping up amongst runway collections at London Fashion Week like the flyer of a cheerleading group. The pretty and girly, the flowing and the fringed, the typically sporty. They were sneaking up on clothing, unexpected in the sense that the designs would work without them, and their lasting impression was memorable. They were like a chant that you can't escape. A good chant though.
CRAVING (Jamie Oliver's sticky toffee pudding)
This is a dessert that is made to be eaten in a warm snug house on an Autumn weekend evening, when you're feeling content and cosy. The ingredients for the sponge consist of 4 earl grey teabags, 450g medjool dates, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 nutmeg, 170g unsalted butter, 340g self raising flour, 170g caster sugar, 170g muscovado sugar, 4 eggs, sea salt and (apart from all the sugar) doesn't it just sound heavenly?
